This is a luxury private residence. situated in a highly urbanized context at Rajagiriya Gardens. Main design strategy is to create habitable spaces with greenery to provide necessary relaxation. A key design locus of this dwelling is to admit adequate natural light and ventilation to the house. while providing a necessary level of shading. This is achieved through spaces penetrated with semi open garden areas with pergolas and louvers, an open to sky terrace and a sit out deck. The house in a sense attempt to embrace the garden spaces around it. A textured brick wall at the entrance acts as a separation and a passive ventilation screen. The semi open green terrace, with frangi-pani trees and covered by a screen. gives filtered views towards the street.
